Remi TS#2
On Wednesday the 7th I met with my adult tutee, Shuichiro (Shu for short), for the first time. We went to the Starbucks on campus to talk and get to know each other. He has a very interesting past, he worked in animation for commercials in Japan. I learned that he no longer wanted to continue such a career and decided to come to FSU in pursuit of a master degree in sports management. He wants to work with children to help them get into professional sports. He is also interested in doing research in to common paths taken by athletes after they retire from their sports careers. He was not sure what he wanted help with but said that once he was used to the classes that he would have a better idea. Initially I got the sense that his speaking and listening skills were good, perhaps not good enough to easily sit through graduate level classes but very close to being able to.
