Tevyn TS#2

Yesterday, on September 6, I met with Shuichiro (Shu). He is currently reading 'The Hunger Games' novel and had some questions about some words and phrases that he had tried to look up but did not fully understand. He is very good at breaking down the sentences and finding the meaning, but the nuances of some sentences evade him. One of the phrases that he wanted help with was " i was the wolves shoot through the woods". He did not understand the nuance of shooting but i explained to him that it meant 'running very fast' and he began to picture it. We also talked about some japanese topics, one was keigo or honorific speach and as his self-imposed homework, and mine, we looked up the different types to better understand and be able to explain them. Today, we went to the first Japanese Language and Culture Association meeting (JLCA) so that I could introduce him to FSU's small japanese community and to mingle with new people so that he could practice english with more than one person.
