Alexa CO #2

Date/Time: August 29th, 2016; 2:00pm-3:00pm

Topic/Skill: Listening

Teacher Presentation: Angel started the class by asking if anyone knew what the definition of the word slang was. He then asked for any examples the students knew and tried to define them to the best of his ability. Angel then gave the class time to work on multiple choice slang questions provided in the textbook. When everyone was done with the multiple choice questions each person took a turn answering a question and then Angel would explain what the slang term meant and how it was used in English.

Classroom Management: At some points during the class Angel would have to encourage the students to answer questions when they were to hesitant of getting the answer wrong.

Materials: white board, marker, workbook

Student Participation: Students took turns answering multiple choice questions and guessing what and how they were used in English.

Feedback Provided: Angel corrected students when multiple choice questions were answered wrong or when the definition of a word was incorrect.

Lesson(s) on teaching you learned: Angel did a really good job of incorporating cultural lesson into the activity. He would define a slang word and then explain where the word came from and how different groups of people used each term. He also challenged the class to think about how a certain slag term could be used in each students home country.
