I met with Yongbae my adult tutee for the final time this Monday. We talked some about his family trip to Universal Islands of Adventure this past weekend. The Incredible Hulk stuck out as a highlight for him and his daughter really enjoyed Harry Potter World. After that he had a question on grammar regarding sentences he was asked to come up with using the infinitive. The teacher corrected a few of his sentences and unfortunately neither him nor I could come up with the reason for the correction. We also talked a little bit about topics for a compare and contrast essay including comparing mandatory military service and non-mandatory military service. I was surprised to find out that Korean men are required to serve in the military for a certain period of time.
