Lauren TS#12

Throughout all my sessions thus far, I have allowed my tutee to choose the topic or skill we focus on each time.  I find that by doing this, it keeps his interest better and also helps to target the specific skills he feels he needs to strengthen.  Today my tutee asked that we work on verb tenses.  We went through each of the tenses through a series of interview questions.  I would not tell him what tense I was using when I asked the question.  He would have to respond appropriately based on the tense he heard.  I found that asking him questions for the present tense was much more difficult than asking him questions that he would have to respond in past tense and future tense.  We worked together on this the entire session.  At first, his responses were very slow and thought out.  He was focusing intently on making sure he understood what tense I was looking for him to respond in and choosing words correctly.  However, by the end of the session my tutee was responding with more accuracy and fluency.
