Yongbae and I met outside of CIES on the bench. We tried getting into the building but it was really nice outside so we did not mind that we were locked out.
I immediately told Yongbae that I finally received my application to apply to the EPIK program and that I was getting ready to choose a city to live in. He was super excited and he told me a little about each city. He's lived in about three of them. He said I'll make a great teacher and he's happy that now I really have to learn Korean so we can text more often that way.
He helped me convert the Korean Won to Dollars as I explained the salary wages. He told me of different foods to eat there and drinks. He lit up as he spoke of the different aspects of metropolitan life of Korea.
We talked about how tattoos are pretty frowned upon there because I told him of my plans to get one during graduation. I decided to postpone the tattoo for a year because I wouldn't want anything to mess up my chances. He explained that tattoos are like marking your body that your parents created so why would you want to hurt yourself when your parents did everything to keep you from being anything less than perfect. He was very understanding about it and we had a good laugh about my tattoo choice and he hopes that everything goes well with my application.

As this is my final "Conversation Partner" blog post, I'd like to note that my time with Yongbae has been more than amazing and we're going to continue meeting weekly to catch up and practice our English/Korean. I'm very thankful for having met him.
