Aaron TS Post #15

10/18/16
Tutee: Nestor

Today I tried to teach Nestor the difference between simple present and present continuous tense. I was really worried because this is a hard concept to teach adults, much less a 14 year-old. He did really well! He had a lot of trouble at first, but then he began to see the difference. It was helpful for him to see how the different tenses were used. For simple present I had him describe his routine and for present continuous I had him describe what he was doing right now. I wish I could have tested his speaking knowledge of these verb tenses, but we ran out of time.  Hopefully we will be able to work on it as we go forward. My plan is to continue with Nestor this semester and hone the skills he has learned. I want to test his speaking and writing a little more and make sure he understands everything fully.
