Danielle TS#15
On 10/21, I met with Astin for our last tutoring session. Today, we worked on reading, short vowels, and did a little of pronunciation practice. We've been working on a lot of the same stuff throughout our tutoring sessions, and I have definitely seen a lot of improvement on his part. In the beginning, he struggled a bit more, but he is a lot better now. Hopefully my tutoring sessions with him have helped him over come some of his difficulties, but I'm sure that being in school for the last two to three months has contributed to that. I even noticed that he was able to read more difficult books to me than he did when we first started. The books he was reading at the end contained more complex sentences and more words per page. However, he was still struggling with pronouncing the s at the end of words or would say the unconjugated form of the verb instead of the conjugated form that was written. I noticed his improvement with pronouncing the s, but not with properly pronouncing verbs in some cases. I think that overall, he reads at a fairly decent level and is on track.
