Lauren TS#8

Since our last session, I have noticed my tutee speaking a lot more.  Not all his sentences are grammatically correct, but for now I am happy he is using English more frequently.  When I hear something that is incorrect, I decide whether to correct him based on whether the meaning in construed.  For our final session, I chose to work on blending sounds of letters we have learned to form words.  Some of the letters we have learned are s, m, p, a, and t.  My tutee is always enthusiastic about letter sounds so I figured he would be excited to begin blending them together.  I used some of the blending activities we do for our reading lesson each morning, which involves listening to the sounds, blending them together and deciding what word the sounds make.  To help my tutee better understand the words we blended, I had a picture on hand for each of the words.  As we created the words, I would show him the picture for that word.  After we formed all the words, I had him choose the correct picture to check his comprehension.  To my surprise, my tutee remembered the correct picture that accompanied each word.
