October 25, today I met with Ruyi in strozier library. She has been assigned a paper on how culture affects media. During today's session I worked with her on, firstly explaining what this topic was asking, and second giving her examples of how culture affects media, especially social and news media. She is a communication major so this topic will be of great interest to her. I suggested that she do a comparison and contrast of China and American media and how the culture affects the things that are said or posted. I will try to do a follow up on Thursday as she had informed me that this week is just the planning period.
