Lauren TS#16

Today was my last session with my tutee.  He brought some homework he needed help with, which happen to be an outline for a presentation.  He chose a topic for his outline and together we researched it to find supporting details for each of his main, three points.  I helped him word the details correctly as well as use proper transition words.  Today’s session was unlike the others because we were actually researching a topic together.  I took the opportunity for what it was and helped teach him ways to successfully do research and find information pertaining to the topic at hand. It was a bittersweet meeting. I have enjoyed getting to know him and helping him with his questions.  I went into this experience expecting to be doing all the teaching; however, my tutee has taught me a lot along the way.  I offered to continue tutoring him or to simply call if he ever needed help with anything.  We also decided to possibly continue meeting as just conversational partners to keep in touch.
