Lauren TS#11

My tutee and I decided to focus on the presentation he had coming up in one of his classes.  He had typed up his presentation slides before our meeting so he asked that I check them for spelling or grammatical errors.  Some of the errors I found were article and prepositional mistakes.  He also misused some transitional words, which I was able to explain and help him correct.  After the mistakes were corrected on each of the slides, he practiced presenting to me. We went through the presentation about three or four times until he felt confident.  I corrected any errors I heard as he went through each slide.  In addition, I made suggestions of ways he could phrase his sentences and transition more smoothly into the following slide.  At the end of the presentation, my tutee had to come up with a conclusion so I helped him understand what he should include in the conclusion and we worked together to come up with a strong conclusion to his presentation.
