This is my first tutoring session with Lina. She's a G3/G4 student at CIES from Russia. She plans to take the TOEFL later in the year. For our first tutoring session, we both agreed to quickly get to know each other for this hour. We completed the needs assessment and she confessed that she wants to work on her speaking more than anything.
I told her we can come up with small speaking activities or have topic-focused speaking sessions where I can correct her grammar or fluency.
She told me that in a month she's going to take her driver's exam so she asked if we could do something related to that as a speaking activity and I told her that that's possible.
