Feedback provided to tutee: I, as well as his friend Bader, told him that he really needs to practice more often. Bader is concerned about his minimal improvement. I have given him many strategies and even made him note cards and he loses all the papers and tools that I give him. I tried to let him know that he needs to actively study or he will not improve.
Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned: Turky's Dad is worried about Turky's improvement in class and asked if his friend Bader would join him for a tutoring session. At first, I was a little intimidated having someone watch me while I tutored because he wasn't saying anything but sitting there and making Turky nervous. But, after a couple of minutes, I used Bader as another form of practice because our teamwork helped Turky understand quickly. He was more stern with Turky than I usually am and I learned some techniques from him. It was a new experience having two people teach one student and I think it is a good alternative to "normal" tutoring methods. Every person has their own unique point of view and method, exposing the student to more than one way increases their chances of understanding the material.
