Diego CP#3

14 September

Yongbae and I decided to meet in a different place this time so we chose Strozier. We both agreed that after a long day we were starving so we walked over to Rising Roll next to the Chik-Fil-A on campus. He was not sure what to get and we were trying to get "healthy" options. Yongbae ended up getting a chicken salad sandwich but I backed out and got a Mac and Cheese bread bowl because it looked too good. He communicated very well with the lady and we both got our food. We decided to sit inside because of how hot it was.
We ended up talking about the Korean language and we spent about 5 minutes trying to get me to say Hello in Korean flawlessly. He spoke of honorifics. Yongbae is a very funny man because he was explaining when to say Haseyo in Annyeong-haseyo. He was explaining that you say it to people older to you and when you formally meet someone. But the joke he made after was "If you meet a friend you say Annyeong but if a police officer stops you, you say ANNYEONG-HASEYO (and he bowed very deeply and quickly)."
We talked a little more about school and how composition was his least favorite class but he was happy he was learning a lot of English.
