Kayla TS #11

Date/Time: October 3, 2016/4:30 pm - 5:30 pm
Location: CIES Student Lounge
Topic/Skill: Speaking/Presenting
Feedback provided to tutee:

I told Jimin that she was going to do great with her speaking presentation, and try not to be nervous.  Don't rush the presentation, and make sure to get your ideas out as clearly as possible. She's a great student, so I know she will do well.  I also said next time she's doing a group project, do NOT do all the work yourself; it's not fair to her.  I told her about Google Slides, so that next time she's in a group project, everybody can work on it at the same time regardless if everyone is together or not.

Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned:

At the beginning of the session, I noticed that she was working on a presentation for a speaking class.  So naturally, today's session was going to be helping her fine tune her presentation.  She didn't get a chance to present it to me because it was not all the way finished, and her computer died towards the end of the session.  We talked about ways she can say certain things in her presentation, and I also showed her some "cool" about Microsoft PowerPoint that she can use to put her over the top.

Towards the end of the session, we just had general conversation.  We talked about things she missed in Korea, Korean food (the ones I tried Saturday), and what "lil" and "in a minute" means.  The session was a great session.
