October 7, Tuesday. Today I went to Eliah's house at 5 pm. I brought him 3 new books, children's books, to read.They were, 'At the Barnyard', 'Murray's first words', and 'The Playful Puppy'. I was able to pick these up, along with some stickers at the dollar tree. We read through each book 2 times. During each readings, I stopped and asked him questions about the reading or the pictures that were in the book. He really liked 'Murray's first words', so for homework, i picked out a few words and phrases that he had trouble saying and reading, and I assigned him to practice writing them down, between 5-10 times. I also assigned him to practice reading "Murray's first words' because he seemed to enjoy that book more than the others. He is really proud of the words that he can say and read and having the stickers as external motivation made him try to pronounce the words on his own. I will go back on Thursday to re-read the books with him and ask him some comprehension questions about the book he had for homework. I will also get more books for him to read.
