Toylene CP#5
So, I have a different CP. My previous CP was no longer able to meet due to family coming in from Mexico. Her family bond is strong and undeniable, and she is willing to sacrifice her wants for her family's needs. I will miss talking with her.
My new CP is from Korea. She is excited to be graduating this summer with a degree in International Affairs. She plans on returning to Korea with hopes of securing a job with the government. She knows her dream of being a government official is extremely competitive. Although, her parents would prefer that she remain in the US, she is determined to return to her homeland. She has relatives in Panama City, FL, and she could easily have a career in the US, but her heart is home. When asked about plan B, she said, "plan B?" Then said, "I don't have one." So, the counselor/mother in me kicked in when she asked if I had any suggestions. I suggested that she might consider teaching. She appeared to be giving it some thought after I gave her some reasons why it was possible. We talked about driving. She referred to her generation as, "young people" who drive crazy. I said you're a "young people." She laughed, and said, "but I drive responsibly." This could be due to a cousin, a previous FSU student, having died in a car accident some years ago.
We talked about many things but one topic caused a big chuckle when I explained that the State of New Mexico and Mexico Beach, FL were not the same. We got our beach discussion and my family member presently living in Holoman, New Mexico crossed up. I told her not to worry, I made the same mistake years ago. I also thought going to Mexico Beach meant I was going to the country of Mexico. Who knew? I didn't at that time. HaHa!
