Toylene TS#8
Sm. Group

Back to grammar.  This session, the focus was on Actions-Present Continuous.  We started out with a game, "Guess What..."  I had 8 action picture cards.  I would reveal each card one at a time and very slowly.  The kids had to guess the action before it was fully revealed.  This game caused a little competitiveness among the group.  After modeling the correct way to indicate an action in progress (I am running. He is jumping. We are walking. They are eating. She is drawing. etc.), they were given the opportunity to practice communicating these actions orally, as well as role play.  During the role play, I would say, "What are you doing?" and they would respond by telling me the action they were doing. I closed with a short writing exercise that involved matching the pictures to the correct action statements.
