Lesson(s) about tutoring
and/or the tutee you learned:
Today P.J. and I
went over some homework that his teacher reassigned to him. Most of the questions
that he missed dealt with reading comprehension. P.J. sometimes has a problem
where he will guess the right answer before understanding what the question is asking
for. To try and help him with this I had him read the questions before reading
the text and then again after reading the text so that he knew what information
he was looking for. After he finished reading the text I would have him read
the question a second time and then ask him what he thought the question meant.
Doing this helped him better understand each question and get the right answer.
