Tevyn TS#3

Sunday the 11th in Strozier library at 7:30 pm, I met with Shu to tutor him. He is still reading the Hunger Games book and is very interested in the story, but he still gets stuck on some nuances. We went over the questions that he had, often having to act it out because they are somewhat colloquial sayings or phrases that get him flustered. For example he was having trouble understanding the nuances of "This is it,..." which i explained to him as "This is my moment, or my chance". I can tell the determination of his studies and how hard he is working. We then went over a presentation project that he is doing for his CIES english class with Mr. Wilson. I went over easy presentation methods, such as use key words and not full sentences and having notecards as a backup for interesting information. He understands the content fully, but has a little trouble getting his thoughts together sometimes. In our next meeting, i want to work on planning, whether is is powerpoint presentations or an essay, which i know he will have to do sometime soon.
