Thursday September 23rd, I met with my adult tutee for the first time. Her name is Ruyi. We exchanged contact information and did a brief introduction. She then informed me that in her writing class, she was instructed to write an essay on the controversial topic of "Should schools be shut down for poor test scores". She wanted help with proof reading and editing her second draft of the essay. After that I then asked her what she would like our future meetings to be focused on. She has a pretty good grasp on english, but she would like to improve on her speaking and listening skills. She is a very sweet girl and seems very motivated. I look forward to working with her more in the future.
