Dojun and I met for the first time on Skype after the
hurricane. Dojun is from South Korea and works for an airline company where he
must speak English for work. He enjoys hanging out with friends, seeing movies,
and billiards. Dojun wants to be able to improve his English so that he can
travel abroad to the United States, Canada, Australia, and South East Asia.
Overall, I believe that he has a deep intrinsic desire to learn and has acquired
a great deal of English as a result. Although he modestly states that he is at
the low intermediate level, he did very well on the grammar quizzes and
comprehended the passage from the Giver. I would say from my evaluation that he
is definitely intermediate; he just needs to be exposed to more English
vocabulary. For this reason, I think it would be most beneficial for him to increase his breadth and depth of English vocabulary by implementing several variations of speaking, reading, and writing exercises.
