tutee: I checked with Dojun to ask him if he would like me to correct him on
his grammar. He said that it would be fine but only on every other session. His
response gave me the impression that he would prefer to just focus on speaking
and listening. Throughout the session whenever there was a gap in his story I
would help him fill in the proper vocabulary word such as the words “liability”
and “faults.”
Lesson(s) about tutoring
and/or the tutee you learned: This session with Dojun I felt that he was
able to practice his speaking more than usual. Generally I am the one who
carries most of the conversation but this time he spoke a lot more. At the
beginning of the session he spent about 15-20 minutes telling me a story about
frustration he had been experiencing recently at work. During the session there
was shaking where Dojun was so we began to talk about earthquakes as well as
geography. Overall I felt that Dojun has found the practice through our conversation
to be beneficial for him.
