Remi CO#1
My first class observation was a level one reading class. Previous to this class they had filled out short surveys so that the professor could better understand their own perceived weaknesses and strengths. She then explained to the students how their individual strengths translated into reading styles. One of the first things I noticed with the profesors speaking style, she made sure to speak clearly and not too slowly so that they could still understand her but get used to most native english speakers conversation speed. She made sure to not use contractions such as, it's, they're, etc. This class they went over specific reading strategies such as skimming and summarizing. They were broken up into groups of two to work on a short reading passage and check what each other understood. Durign this time the professor walked around and aided any students with vocabulary terms that they did not understand.
