Date/time/professor: Monday, 9/19, 11pm, Calyn Stringer
Location: Room 302
Today I observed professor Stringer's group 3 reading class. I definitely feel like I learned a good deal about how to teach a reading class, as well as how to teach a group of people that are not native english speakers. Something I noticed was that she would heavily enunciate all her words, which was probably very helpful to the students. I could tell they understood her well. The reading that day was about snakes and snake bites. I liked that she gave them plenty of time to read, and then answer the questions on their own. When she went over the answers, she put up anything that might be confusing on the board. I believe this helped them understand the questions, and why their answer was right or wrong. My favorite part was at the end when everyone got a book (Ramona) and she read to them while they followed along. This is something I definitely want to incorporate into my classes.
