For my second meeting with my conversation partner Jay on
September 23rd we meet after class at Starbucks. We had a really
nice conversation and discussed a range of topics. We talked about popular music
and then our interests, he showed me some Korean music videos and I showed him
some music I’ve been listening to lately. I thought it was interesting but I
have heard Korean pop videos before so I was already somewhat familiar. We
talked about politics and the differences between viewpoints on policy between
Korea and the U.S. which I found interesting because I didn’t think about how
other countries might follow the U.S. in their own political system. He then
showed me a few videos about different popular types of Korean food and
Americans reaction when they try them. We talked about food for a while and I
recommended some desserts for him to try. He invited me over to his place to
try some Korean food so I’m looking forward to our next meeting.
