Remi CP#1

Due to the hurricane I was only able to meet with Xinbing for the first time on Friday the 9th. We met up in front of the library and then went to the stand alone Starbucks on campus. He is a PhD. student studying statistics and is from the Shandong province in China. We briefly spoke about why he wanted to improve his English. He explained that he has difficulties explaining answers to math problems to the students in the class he is a TA in. He mainly wants to make it easier for him to communicate as well as cut down on the time he spends getting his point across to others within his department. Due to his constantly shifting schedule it is hard to predetermine a date and time to meet but hopefully we can keep meeting in the afternoons on Fridays.
