My first tutoring session with my adult tutee, Dojun, was very interesting. I believe he very well knows all the grammar rules, and has memorized an extensive amount of english words. His biggest issue is getting speaking practice. Because of this, our tutoring sessions feel very similar to meetings with my conversation partners. We talked about his job and just a lot of introductory topics in general. His english was very good, and I was almost convinced he did not really need that much help at all. I told him I was impressed, but he said that it is because the introductory topics are the easy ones. I think it makes sense- most people do learn how to say hello and greetings first. He is also very well acquainted with the time difference. We always plan our meeting times according to the time here.
