Remi TS #6

I met with Shu in the CIES house and we went to the basement to work. He had chosen a rather short piece on NPR to listen to however, the topic and vocabulary was fairly complex. He chose an article on the manipulation of research by the sugar industry. The link to the article will be at the bottom of this post. I listened to it at least three times before meeting with him and developed some comprehension questions which he was able to answer for the most part. Sometimes certain key words he could not remember. After I had finished with my questions we had a conversation on the topic exchanging opinions and comparing dietary culture between Japan and the U.S. We finished the meeting with me helping him to find the grammar errors in his speech evaluation. Next meeting, he will once again choose a piece from NPR to listen to, this time I asked him to choose one that was slightly longer.
