Danielle CP#3

On 9/21, I met with Vicky again at Starbucks. I was wearing a tank top and she noticed I had a tattoo on my shoulder blade, and she was asking me all kinds of questions about it because she wants to get one, too. She asked about how painful it was and where I got it, so I gave her the name of the shop I got it done at. We moved on from there and she asked me more about how my TEFL class was going and where I wanted to go. I told her that I am still deciding between Japan and Korea, and she opened up to me and explained that she does not like Japan all that much.  This is because of the Japanese occupation of China (where she's from) and that her family was directly occupied.  She even had a couple of relatives who were killed. By telling me this, it reminded me that this was a very recent event in history, as sometimes I know I forget that just because an event is part of "history" doesn't mean it happened a long time ago. We moved on from there, and she was asking me about how rigorous graduate programs are here and what to expect. I also gave her some advice on preparing for the TOEFL since she's hoping to be admitted to the FSU masters program in accounting for the spring term.
